Business Development & Growth Academy: Marketing & communication in a changing landscape

Business Development & Growth Academy

Launching the Business Development & Growth Academy!

A new webinar series for shared learning in human and planetary health innovation.

In a fast-moving medical biotech, medtech, digital health, agtech & industrial biotech ecosystem, growth doesn’t come from isolated expertise, it comes from collaboration, shared experience, and honest conversations about real challenges.

That’s why we’re launching the Business Development & Growth Academy: a webinar series bringing together our members to openly share their knowledge, tools, and lessons learned, to support the broader ecosystem in a relevant way.

Throughout the year, these sessions will explore practical topics relevant to:

  • early-stage startups (R&D & service providers)
  • scaling companies (R&D & service providers)
  • established industry players (R&D & service providers)

Each webinar will focus on concrete challenges, real-world perspectives, and actionable insights.

First session:

Marketing & communication in a changing landscape

From visibility to growth… without losing the human touch

Date: 3 February, 15:00 – 16:00 CET, online

Marketing and communication have never been more complex for life sciences companies. Limited resources, increasing noise, evolving digital tools, and the rise of AI raise important questions:

  • Where should you start your marketing activities, and what should you prioritise?
  • How do you stay visible and credible in an overloaded information landscape?
  • How can new tools (including AI) support growth without replacing strategic thinking and sector expertise?

This first webinar opens the academy by addressing these questions from complementary perspectives, spanning commercial, non-commercial, and strategic communication.

Webinar program (1 hour)

Introduction ( 5 min)

Setting the scene: goals of the Academy & today’s challenges

Three short expert perspectives (10 min each):

1. When & how to start marketing and communication (Tijs Ruysschaert, Cantilis)

How startups and growing companies can take their first (or next) steps, pragmatically and strategically.

2. Staying visible in an era of information overload (Alexandra Schiettekatte, Backstage Communications)

From PR and content to discoverability: how to remain relevant and trusted in a crowded digital space.

3. Digital marketing, business development & new tools (Tom Claes, Ooho)

How data, digital channels and AI can accelerate go-to-market and market understanding, and where human expertise remains essential.
